Megan Garland is the recipient of the Dr. Frederick Maue 1976 Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a student in the BS Biology Pre-medical Sciences curriculum. Megan is a Dean's List student from Mount Wolf, PA.  She  will serve as the vice-president of the Pre-medical Sciences Club and the vice-president of Tri-Beta Biology Honor Society for the upcoming academic year.  She is also a member of the Red Cross Club and assisted at campus blood drives. Megan was inducted as a member of the Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Society and was elected treasurer in the fall of 2019. She has volunteered in the emergency department of Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital.  Megan actively serves the community and has volunteered at the local food cupboard, packed lunches for school children, and participated in the Pre-Med Club's charity fundraiser "Nothing but Nets" to purchase mosquito-repelling nets for areas affected by malaria and zika. She also volunteered to support the Trinity Learning Center, a group that supports adults and children with disabilities. Megan plans to attend medical school and become an orthopedic or trauma surrgeon.
