Elizabeth Kester receives Margaret Till Physiology award

Elizabeth Kester was selected as the recipient of the 2019 Margaret Till Physiology Award. Dr. Till, faculty emerita and former BAHS chairperson, established a physiology award to be granted to a senior who is currently enrolled or has successfully completed at least one senior physiology lecture course and Integrated Physiology Lab. Applicants are evaluated based on performance in physiology courses, a recommendation letter from a physiology instructor, and a 350 to 500 word essay which describes the role of physiology in his or her future career. Liz graduated in May 2019 with a major in health sciences, pre-physician assistant. She is a member of  Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and served as the secretary of Tri-Beta Biology Honor Society for two years. Liz is the recipient of a Board of Governor's scholarship and serves as a P.A.S.S. mentor.   Outside the classroom, Liz participates in Colleges Against Cancer and the Biology and Allied Health Sciences Club. She completed the Biology 302 practicum at Geisinger Medical Center and is a Surgical Services Volunteer. In the community, Liz volunteered at the Children's Museum, the Animal Resource Center and the Big Event. Liz will enter the physician assistant studies masters program at Thomas Jefferson University.
