Dr. Hranitz and Alan Belles
Congratulations to Alan Belles for successfully defending his Master's thesis on April 14, 2016. Alan's research used data collected at the Chincoteague Bay Field Station in Wallops Island, VA on the eastern shore of Virginia. He compared the call characteristics of male Fowler's toads on the mainland with the dwarf island toads. Dr. Hranitz is Alan's research advisor. Serving on his thesis committee were Dr. Huckans, Department of Physics and Dr. Pitt, Department of Biological and Allied Health Sciences.
