BAHS organizations support our campus and wider community

BAHS organizations showed their community spirit at semester's end. The Biological and Allied Health Sciences Club collected non-perishable food items and personal care products for the Columbia County Volunteers in Medicine Clinic in Mifflinville, PA. This free clinic, part of the Volunteers in Medicine Alliance, provides health care for the uninsured. The clinic was founded by BU alum Bette Grey. Donated items were placed under the tree in Hartline lobby (see top photo). The club delivered 4 1/2 boxes of items to the clinic for their food pantry. Drs. Angela Hess and Jennifer Venditti are co-advisors of the BAHS club.

Tri-Beta Biology Honor Society collected professional clothing to support the Husky Career Closet. The career closet, an effort of the Office of Alumni & Professional Engagement, helps BU students dress for success by providing a source of professional clothing. Students needing professional attire for an upcoming interview, career fair, or even class presentation, can select one outfit from the closet each semester. The Husky Career Closet, located at the Greenly Center, is available to all BU students and is stocked through donations from alumni, faculty, and members of the community. Shown at right in the bottom photo are Tri-Beta members Rachel Nenstiel, Taylor Bozza and Dr. Abby Hare-Harris, Tri-Beta co-advisor.
