Spend your summer on the shore at Chincoteague Bay Field Station!

Chincoteague Bay Field Station is now hiring Summer Camp Counselors, a College Community Assistant, and Outreach Programs and Internship Supervisors. These positions are ideal for recent graduates or those who are interested in environmental education, biology, and marine science.  All staff are provided on-campus housing, meals, and a weekly stipend. College Community Assistant
The College Community Assistant works with college students on campus. The primary goal is to oversee the college community in a safe and productive way that is enjoyable for all students. Responsibilities for this job include coordinating student housing, enforcing rules and safety regulations, supervising resident assistants, and creating weekly events and activities for college students. There may also be additional opportunities to go on trips with classes, however, most work will be on campus. Applicants must be enthusiastic, friendly, and be able to enforce rules. Applications are due February 23rd.
Program dates: May 17 - August 11, 2015
Outreach Programs & Internship Supervisor
Outreach Programs and Internship Supervisors gain experience leading groups of all ages and teaching a diverse array of topics that highlight the dynamic ecosystems of a barrier island. They also achieve valuable supervisory experience as they help to manage our high school intern and summer volunteer programs. Outreach Programs and Internship Supervisors work alongside program staff to provide a diverse range of educational and scientific program experiences. Program activities are varied and may include kayaking and canoeing, nature hikes, marsh-mucking, boat trips, campfires, science labs, seining and trawling, skit nights, marine organism collection, astronomy field trip, water testing and sampling, island tours, etc. Food and Lodging is provided for free during this position. Programs are educational and marine science based.

Summer Camp Counselor
Marine Science Camp Counselor will gain an in depth understanding of the dynamic ecosystems of a barrier island, receive training in Environmental Interpretation and Education, and gain experience creating educational curricula for ages 8-18. Counselors are in charge of supervision of summer campers and must be 21 or older. Applications are due February 2nd.
