Dr. William Schwindinger earns tenure

Dr. William F. Schwindinger
Congratulations to Dr. William Schwindinger who was recently granted tenure in the Department of Biological and Allied Health Sciences. Dr. Schwindinger  earned his B.A. from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and his M.D. and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. At Bloomsburg University, Dr. Schwindinger has taught Pharmacology for the Health Sciences, Molecular Biology, Medical Terminology, and Anatomy and Physiology laboratories.  His research focuses on G-protein coupled signaling. To support his work, Dr. Schwindinger has received a PASSHE Faculty Development Grant and Bloomsburg University Research and Scholarship Mini-grants. He has mentored many students in research projects, resulting in presentations at the the College of Science and Technology Research Day, Tri-Beta District and National Conventions, the Susquehanna Valley Undergraduate Research Symposium, and the Undergraduate Research Symposium in the Chemical and Biological Sciences at the University of Maryland, Baltimore Campus. Dr. Schwindinger has mentored four summer research students who received the Undergraduate Research Scholarship and Creative Activities Award. One of his students, Jean-Nicole Place earned a prestigious first place award at the national Tri-Beta Convention for her work on the "Methylation of GNG7 in Human Breast Cancer Tissues." Dr. Schwindinger lends his expertise and experience in medicine as a member of Bloomsburg University's Pre-professional Advisory Committee. He has served as a member of the Institutional Review Board for Human Subject Research, the College Curriculum Committee, the CoST Faculty Support Group, and Departmental Search Committees.  Congratulations Dr. Schwindinger!
