Rachel Johnson conducts hellbender research with Dr. Pitt



Biology major Rachel Johnson received an Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity (URSCA)Award to work with Dr. Amber Pitt last summer on hellbender research. Rachel examined "Eastern hellbender (Cryptobranchus alleganiensis alleganiensis) population status, spatial distribution, and microhabitat use in a Pennsylvania stream." Rachel presented the results of this original research at the 5th Annual Susquehanna Valley Undergraduate Research Symposium in Lewisburg, PA.
