Dr. Chamuris to present 75th Anniversary Program at Ricketts Glen State Park

Dr. George Chamuris, professor, will present a program "The Flora of Ricketts Glen" on Saturday June 29, 2019 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Visitor Center at Ricketts Glen State Park.The presentation is in celebration of the 75th anniversary of Ricketts Glen State Park.  Ricketts Glen State Park lies on over 13,000 acres in Columbia, Luzerne, and Sullivan counties. It contains over 20 miles of hiking trails and is home to  the Glens Natural Area, a National Natural Landmark, and 22 named waterfalls. Dr. Chamuris's publication Hiker's Guide to the Trees, Shrubs and Vines of Ricketts Glen State Park, is now in its 6th edition. The Penn State College of Medicine Primary Care Scholars’ Program is an exceptional opportunity for those who are interested in attending medical school and specializing in primary care. Dr. Stefanie Kroll, stream ecologist, presents seminar

Seminar speaker Dr. Stefanie Kroll with host Dr. Steve Rier, professor Dr. Stefanie Kroll, Assistant Research Professor, in the Department of Biodiversity, Earth and Environmental Science at Drexel University shared her expertise  on   aquatic macroinvertebrate ecology at the BAHS seminar series on November 1, 2019. Dr. Kroll's talk was entitled"  Macroinvertebrates Tell All: Indicators of Human Impacts on Streams" Dr. Kroll is the    project science director of the Delaware River Watershed Initiative, a collaboration among over 50 nonprofit groups working in watershed conservation. She has a PhD in ecology from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, NY.
