Adrienne Yordy selected as Outstanding Senior in Biology


Adrienne Yordy was selected as the 2017-2018 Outstanding Senior in Biology by the Department of Biological and Allied Health Sciences in recognition of her scholarship, leadership, and service.  Adrienne is a pre-medical sciences major and plans to attend medical school next fall. She has extensive health care shadowing experience and participated in the Primary Care Scholars Program at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA. Adrienne is a campus leader serving as the president of the Pre-medical Sciences Club and the historian of Tri-Beta, the biology honor society. Her outstanding achievements have been recognized by a host of honors and awards including dean’s list each semester and selection for membership in The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and the Tri-Beta Biology Honor Society. She is a recipient of the Phi Kappa Phi Outstanding Freshman Award, the Outstanding Young American Award, and the Toys for Tots Service Award. Adrienne volunteers her time as a peer tutor in Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Genetics. She serves her community by participating in a variety of activities that include ConnKerr Cancer, Bloomsburg University’s Science Iditarod, Project Linus, volunteer work at Maria Joseph Manor, and Toys for Tots. She has engaged local children in conducting science activities as part of the Girl Scout Merit Badge College hosted by the Department of Biological and Allied Health Sciences. Congratulations Adrienne for Adrienne has excelled and is recognized by department faculty for her scholarship, leadership and service.
