BAHS Club spreads holiday cheer

treasurer and Tyler Carroll, BAHS club president
The BAHS Club has had a busy end to the semester! The group sponsored a holiday ornament contest. The labs in Hartline were invited to create ornaments from lab materials to hang on the tree in the lobby of Hartline Science Center. Contest entrants, along with CoST faculty, staff and students, donated non-perishable food items and personal care products for under the tree. As a result of these generous donations, the BAHS Club was able to deliver four boxes of food and supplies to the Columbia County Volunteers in Medicine Clinic In Mifflinville, PA. (See photo at left.)  The clinic was established by BAHS alumnus Bette Grey to offer free health care for those lacking health insurance. The clinic also provides a small food pantry for those patients needing this additional support.  Seven laboratory groups participated in the ornament contest. The first place ornament was created by Andrew Cross from Dr. Surmacz's Lab and the second place ornament was designed by Lauren Bunnell from Dr. Beishline's labDr. Angela Hess and Dr. Jennifer Venditti are co-advisors of the BAHS club.
