Elyse Shultz is the recipient of the Margaret Till Physiology Award
Elyse Shultz was selected as the recipient of the 2018
Margaret Till Physiology Award. Dr. Till, faculty emerita and former BAHS
chairperson, established a physiology award to be granted to a senior who is
currently enrolled or has successfully completed at least one senior physiology
lecture course and Integrated Physiology Lab. Applicants are evaluated based on
performance in physiology courses, a recommendation letter from a physiology
instructor, and a 350 to 500 word essay which describes the role of
physiology in his or her future career. Elyse graduated in May 2018 with a
major in biology and a minor in chemistry. She was the president of the Biology
and Allied Health Club. Elyse conducted research in Dr. Coleman’s lab entitled
“Induction of Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis (EAE) in Earthworms and
its Effects on Muscle Contraction." She will enter the Master’s program in
biology at Bloomsburg University.
