Dr. Hare-Harris Awarded the 2021 TALE Outstanding Teaching Award

Along with two other faculty members from across the university, our very own, Dr. Abby Hare-Harris, has been awarded the Bloomsburg TALE Center's 2021 Award for Outstanding Teaching. Awardees were nominated by students graduating during the 2020-2021 school year.

Dr. Hare-Harris is an experienced computational biologist with a focus on human genomics research. She currently teaches Human Genetics as well as Bioinformatics and Medical Genomics, two essential courses for the students in the Medical Genomics and Counseling Certificate program. Dr. Hare-Harris also serves as an academic advisor to all the Health Sciences - Medical Genomics and Counseling tract students.

One of her nominations indicated "She is not an easy professor by any means. Her work promotes independent thinking and has helped me become a better student and a better person."

In addition to her classroom teaching, Dr. Hare-Harris works with both under graduates and graduate students on genomics research projects; giving them great experiences to prepare them for genetic counseling school, graduate school, and the work force.

Congratulations and Keep up the great work! 👏 🙌
